The reflective massage is ideal for treating injuries. We will briefly tell you something about this type of massage and then go into different massage forms. After reading this article you will be able to carry out this massage yourself. When you want, where you want and for free.
What is the reflective massage?
The reflective massage is based on the fact that handgrips, needles, etc. have an indirect effect on the body, for example on organs. This type of massage focuses on specific reflex points on the body. Each organ has a reflex point, which is massaged and treated to heal the diseased organ. The stimulus triggered by the massage can be forwarded to the brain through the spinal cord and can therefore be relaxing and also pain-relieving. The reflective massage also serves to promote circulation, to relax, to relieve stress hormones and to have a positive effect on the nervous system, the sleeping system and the concentration. We have now looked for a way to carry out the reflective massage.
Acupressure
Acupressure is also referred to as acupuncture massage and is a healing method that is used especially in traditional Chinese and Japanese medicine. In addition to the various massage techniques and chiropractic methods, it is part of the Chinese Tuina massage and the Japanese Shiatsu massage. It is also the predecessor, of the more widely used acupuncture and it also uses the same meridians and pressure points.
Application
In acupressure, dull pressure is exerted on a certain point of the body. In the case of acupressure, it is not absolutely necessary to visit a skilled person, this form is also suitable for self-treatment. You press the aching points on your muscle or tendon with your fingertips for a few seconds.
Effect
According to the conceptions of traditional Chinese medicine, Qi which is the energy of life flows in fixed paths, that are called meridians, through our body. If pain and discomfort arise, they hinder the flow of Qi. Pressure is then exerted and the pressure relieves the pain and the life energy flows again. It is designed to relieve everyday worries such as headache, dizziness, digestive problems, even toothache.
Reflexology massage
Reflex zone massage is one of the alternative medical treatment procedures and is also used in the wellness industry. It is found, for example, in the Ayurvedic massage tradition, the Thai massage and the Tuina. The newer western reflexology massage, however, originates from the otolaryngologist William Fitzgerald (1872 – 1942). He had knowledge of the reflex zones from the Indian national medicine.
Application
The reflex zones are intended to reflect the organs and muscle groups on the skin surface and are not identical with the head zones from the medicine. They can be found on the back, the foot, the hand, the ear, the nose and the skull. The different reflex zones are then massaged and adjusted with the fingertips, angled finger joints or mass rods. In doing so, care must be taken to determine which part of the body must be massaged for the respective complaints.
Effect
The reflexology massage helps in pain therapy and circulation disorders. In addition, it can also be used for relaxation. There are also reports from people who talk about the restraining of tensions and organ complaints.
Cupping head massage
This reflective massage is also called a suction (wave) massage. The cupping head massage has existed since 3300 BC and has been practiced by Greek and Egyptian physicians. The Chinese also had a similar form. In antiquity it was used to cure a disease by demixing the juices in the body. In Chinese medicine it was used with a stagnation of blood and Qi and with the shamans to suck the evil spirits and miasms.
Application
The cupping glass is placed on an undamaged part of your skin, which has been oiled before. The cupping head is then moved over a certain point and then the cupping glas sucks up, so that a vacuum is created. Of course, there are also deviations, such as the dry cupping, in which the glass is placed on undamaged parts of the body, and the bloody/wet cupping, at which the skin is scarified with a blood lancet before the glass is placed on the skin.
Effect
Cupping is very useful to cure a variety of ailments such as: migraine, rheumatism, spinal disc problems, lumbago, knee problems, carpal tunnel syndrome, hypertension, sciatica, almond problems, bronchitis, asthma, headache, kidney weakness, hypersensitivity, hypotonia, fatigue, depression, digestive problems, cardiovascular disease, organ problems, fever, cold, flu, tuberculosis, tumors, sands and burns.
Thai massage
The traditional Thai massage is known in Thailand as “Nuat Phaen Boran”, which means “massaging according to an antient pattern”. But the Thai massage comes from India. Jivaka-Komarabhacca, who developed this massage, is still referred to as the “father of medicine” in India. All the evidence of the Thai massage was lost in the destruction of the antient Thai royal city Ayutthaya in 1767, except for a document that King Nang Klao then engraved in stone panels in 1832. The Thai massage succeeded with the spreading of Buddhism to Thailand and from India, where it is practically no longer practiced today.
Application
The selected energies of the body (according to Ayurvedic doctrine) are treated by gentle stretching and rhythmic pressure by the hand, thumb, knee, elbow and feet. The Thai massage usually takes place on a floor mat.
Effect
The Thai massage is meant to help with: headaches, nausea, constipation, diarrhea, tinnitus, sleep disorders, shock, cough, knee pain, back pain and dizziness. In addition, the blood circulation is stimulated, the muscles are relaxed, it affects the body and mobility, stimulates the blood flow, stimulates the metabolism and triggers relaxation and well-being.
