Lacrosse gloves, just like any other lacrosse gears, tend to take a beating on the field. And while they may look fine on the outside, the inside of your gloves is probably a different story. Fortunately, cleaning lacrosse gloves is relatively easy – and it’s something you can do at home with just a few simple household items.
Removing Exterior Dirt
If your lacrosse gloves are looking a little worse for wear, don’t worry – there’s an easy fix! All you need to do is mix some warm water with a bit of soap, and then use this solution to gently scrub away any dirt or marks on the outside of your gloves. If you act quickly and get all that grime off right away, a simple paper towel should be enough to take care of any big chunks or clumps of dirt. For those tougher stains that just won’t go away, try using an old toothbrush to give them a good scrub. In no time, your lacrosse gloves will be looking as good as new!
Removing Interior Dirt
Lacrosse gloves can get pretty grimy on the inside, but with a few simple steps, you can easily give them a fresh and clean new look. Start by mixing some warm water with your favorite detergent or laundry detergent in a bowl or sink – the amount of soap you use will depend on how dirty your gloves are. Next, simply place your gloves into the solution and let them soak for at least half an hour. Once they’ve soaked for long enough, remove the gloves from the soapy mixture and rinse under warm water until all of the detergent has been washed away.
Use a Brush to flush out dirt: Next, you’ll need to use a brush – an old toothbrush or a soft-bristled brush will do the trick – to gently scrub away any remaining dirt or stains from the inside of your gloves. Be sure to pay extra attention to those tough-to-reach areas, like the fingers, to make sure all of the dirt has been removed.
Rinse with Vinegar: To help remove any lingering odors and freshen up your gloves, mix together equal parts water and vinegar in a bowl or sink. Then, place your gloves into the mixture and let them soak for at least 15 minutes. After they’ve soaked, remove the gloves and rinse under warm water until all of the vinegar has been washed away.
Air Dry the gloves: Once you’ve removed all of the dirt and grime from your gloves, it’s time to let them air dry. Lacrosse gloves can take awhile to dry, so be patient and give them plenty of time to fully dry out before using them again.
Lacrosse gloves are an important part of your gear, so it’s important to keep them clean and in good condition. By following these simple steps, you can easily give your gloves a thorough cleaning – and keep them looking and smelling fresh for many games to come!
